When Alexis found out she was pregnant, we went ahead and got her maternity and newborn sessions booked right away! During her maternity consultation, I asked if she had an idea of what she wanted her session to look like. Her response was “You can do whatever you want!” Between you and me…these words make my photographer heart VERY happy! As I pulled together a concept for her maternity photoshoot, I knew that she deserved something that would showcase her beauty in a timeless way. Alexis knew that she didn’t want heavy makeup for her session so I partnered up with my makeup artist to give Alexis a lightweight, polished look. She did a great job! Once her gallery was delivered, she and her family told me just how much they LOVED her images. Her hubby even surprised her with a blown-up print to hang in their home!
As we inched closer to her due date, we discussed what her little lady’s newborn session would look like. She had one word for me…CHRISTMAS! We talked about aaaaall the possibilities that a Christmas-themed session could bring and I took some notes. She told me that her mother jokingly said that we might want to plan for a Thanksgiving-themed session because little miss Omari’s due date was only a few weeks after Thanksgiving and she thought she would come early. Well…this little one was VERY comfortable right where she was. So comfortable, in fact, that she did not want to be bothered in the womb. Alexis told me that during EVERY ultrasound appointment, this little one did not want to show mama her sweet face! She would move in the opposite direction or turn her back on the ultrasound tech every. single. time! We shared a few laughs and in the back of my mind, I knew that it was important to capture all of those tiny facial features that mama waited so long to see!
This sweet girl absolutely ROCKED her newborn session! She slept through the whole session and barely made a PEEP! She was such a dream! Mama followed the newborn session prep guide to a T and the proof was definitely in the pudding. We got through every setup that I brought with ease. It was wonderful!
